A dynamic teacher, Cameron prides himself on being the best he can be. At times, this may mean listening, lecturing or recognizing problems before they arise. He enjoys studying the field of education, and contains within him a wealth of diverse teaching experiences. To him, education is life and life is education. From February 2011 to May 2012, Cameron will continue his educational quest in Thailand.
Cameron has taught for Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth both on the ground and online. In 2010 he was nominated for the CTYOnline Outstanding Instructor Award.
Cameron created and teaches the Shakespeare Seminar for Ottawa University Online seniors. He also teaches Introduction to Literature - a broad spectrum class that exposes students to the craft elements of historic and contemporary poetry, story and drama.
Cameron writes for TEACH Magazine, Canada’s largest national education publication. Check out his series called Teaching the Teacher.
While he was the 2007-2009 Poet-in-Residence at the University of Arizona, Cameron connected with the Tucson Indian Center and taught creative writing for the Tohono O'odham Native American Tribe at Indian Oasis in Sells, Arizona.
Cameron was the 2007-2009 Poet-in-Residence at the University of Arizona's MFA Creative Writing Program. This allowed him to teach at-risk youth throughout Arizona.
